VeriLAN Broadcast Wireless Broadband to Portland, Oregon Tigard, OR September 30, 2003 VeriLAN, Inc., an Oregon based wireless solutions provider, has designed and installed the first Vivato outdoor switch in Portland, Oregon. Vivato's outdoor switches deliver Wi-Fi to a much larger area when compared to other competing 802.11 hardware. Vivato's outdoor switches can support Wi-Fi client devices up to 4 kilometers away without the need for external antennas or amplifiers. The Vivato switch allows VeriLAN the capability to supply wireless Internet service for up to 1000 concurrent clients in downtown Portland, Oregon. The Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) service also will allow the subscribers Internet coverage within the established service area. VeriLAN provides WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network), and WWAN (Wireless Wide Area Network) services to Portland and Rural Communities. VeriLAN supplies partnering ISPs (Internet Service Providers) faster bandwidth at lower cost than DSL Service. The radios are providing signal up to 20 miles throughout all types of weather, which enables wireless bandwidth services in remote areas that have no broadband Internet access. Businesses in the Portland area can have guaranteed bandwidth up to 24Mbps, with guaranteed quality of service, over a secure link, at a lower cost than existing solutions. VeriLAN also provides national and international conferences with WLAN; along with IS/IT support, LCD projectors/screens, live video encoding, and streaming of events. |
